Neil Allen: 7/20/86 White Sox & Yankees
In real life, Neil Allen pitched a no walk, no strikeout shutout in this game. It took all of two batters to end that hope in this replay. Allen struck out Rickey Henderson to lead off the bottom of the 1st to end the hope of a no strikeout shutout, and then the next batter, Claudell Washington hit a homerun to end the hope of shutout. Allen ended up walking a total of 7 batters, striking out 5, while allowing 5 runs to take the loss. The White Sox fell to the Yankees by a score of 5-1.
I chose the 1987 Topps Neil Allen because the 1988 Topps Neil Allen has him in a Yankees uniform and I felt like that would be pretty confusing since in this replay game he is pitching for the White Sox against the Yankees.
